David was born in Flushing, near Booth Memorial Hospital. He then moved to Maspeth and finally to College Point, where he lived until moving to Los Angeles.
Red Bull is his favorite drink.
He has a habit of biting his nails.

When he was younger, David was a big fan of "Pokemon", "Star Wars", and "South Park".
He has dated actress Megan Fox (from "Transformers") and PlayBoy model Jillian Grace.
Some of David's closest friends are also celebrities, including JC Chasez, producer Joel Michaely, and actress Shannon Woodward.
He has worked with John Travolta in two feature films - "Look Who's Talking Now" in 1993 and "Phenomenon" in 1996.
"Phenomenon" is his favorite movie that he has starred in.
Stephen King is one of David's favorite authors, his favorite books being "Storm of the Century", "The Eyes of the Dragon" and "The Green Mile".
"Law and Order" and "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" are some of the shows David likes to watch on television when he has the time.
His favorite music artists include Linkin Park, Evanescence, Eminem, Ludacris, Murphy Lee, Chingy and 50 Cent.
He hates oatmeal.
Career:
His first paid job was a print ad for Hasbro toys, when he was just 18 months old.
One of his most vivid memories as a child actor was the Tyson Chicken commerical he did when he was 4 years old. The crew gave him a spit bucket, but David insisted on eating the chicken with each take, and ended up throwing up all over his on-screen dad.
"A Dad's Life", a half hour pilot that David booked in April of 1994, was never filmed due to their inability to cast a suitable actor for the role of the father. The two actors that were cast, however, were Tim Conway as the grandfather and David as Mickey, the grandson.
He was considered for a role alongside previous co-star Michael Angarano in the film, "Sky High", but due to "7th Heaven" conflicts was taken out of the running.
In the 1994 broadplay play, "A Christmas Carol", David played several different characters on stage, including Scrooge, Tiny Tim's understudy and James Crachit.
Originally, David had auditioned for the role of Spin in "The New Adventures of Spin and Marty: Suspect Behavior", but did not win the part. When the project began shooting, however, the actor playing Marty became sick and David was then given the call. Shooting only lasted about three weeks.
He had auditioned to be in the 2005 film, "Transamerica", but didn't win the part. It wasn't a wasted effort, however, as director Duncan Roy happened upon David's audition tape and was so impressed he cast him as Dorian in, "The Picture of Dorian Gray".
Since he was young, David has always wanted to not only act in films, but write, produce and direct. He was a producer on "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "Freakin' Zombies, Man!", and was involved in almost every aspect of his short film "Ten Bucks".
In 2002, David was involved as a co-producer and lead actor in the yet-to-be-developed film, "Coldwater". Months were spent attempting to pitch the independent movie to studios, but unfortunately it was never picked up. Eventually, David decided to step away from the project.
David has guest starred in three different CBS network television shows - "Walker, Texas Ranger", "Numb3rs", and his most recent appearance in "CSI: Miami".
School:
Gained a 1210 cumulative on his SAT's.
Graduated from Chaminade High School in 2003, a Catholic school in West Hills, California. He then went on to graduate from the University of Southern California in 2007.
Attended USC from 2003-2007, with a major in the School of Cinema-Television (Cinema Critical Studies).
Some of David's favorite subjects in junior high were literature and science.
He disliked computer literacy.
He can speak Spanish, having taken classes in both high school and college.
One of his favorite spots near campus was the Ragazzi Room.
David lived in the dorms for his freshman year at USC - in Pardee Tower, Room 101. He had a roommate named Rob.
Music:
Can play the saxophone, the guitar, and the recorder. David took lessons for the saxophone and learned the recorder from classes at school.
First started playing guitar at the age of 15.
David also spends time writing songs, too. When he was dating Megan Fox, he used to write and play songs for her on the guitar.
The first full song he played on the guitar was, "Knights in White Satin", by the Moody Blues.
In 2000, David recorded three songs with his good friend Jacy DeFilippo, whom he met while doing the play, "A Christmas Carol". The songs were titled, "Stronger Every Minute", "A Lil' Harder Next Time", and "Atmosphere". Although David seemed interested in balancing a career in both music and acting at the time, he has now said that the songs were done rather as a favor to help his friend launch her career.
Life and Family:
In 2005, David did a photoshoot with InTouch Weekly that took us on a tour of his one-bedroom apartment in Valencia, Los Angeles. It is actually located in his parent's backyard.
Younger brother Killian is autistic, which is why David is a devoted member and spokesperson for CAN (Cure Autism Now).
His sister Michelle was in an episode of "7th Heaven" with him, "With A Little Help From My Friends", and also appeared briefly in the fifth season's 100th episode.
David and his sisters all have the same middle name, Lee.
Vincent Casey, David's dad, ran an official website for David for about a year in 2002. He also helped out on an unofficial site turned official for several years prior to this.
David owns several American made cars - including a 1964 Chevrolet Impala, a 1971 Oldsmobile 442, a 1973 Ford Mustang convertible and a 1967 Pontiac Firebird. He also has a red Dodge Viper and a Plymouth Prowler - the prowler he received for his 16th birthday.
His dad is a mechanic, and has been making up cars with David since he was young. Dave also owned a customized Hummer, and tried to sell it on eBay in 2004.
He has his own personal trailer that he takes with him to film shoots.
7th Heaven:
Favorite episode is "I Hate You", a Holocaust inspired episode in season 2.
David has said that Jessica Biel was the closest thing he had to a big sister. The first conversation he remembers having with her was about pizza.
As Simon Camden, David's had several popular young actresses and singers play his love interests, including Ashlee Simpson, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Haylie Duff.
Catherine Hicks and Stephen Collins were almost like a second set of parents for David when he was younger. He felt he could talk to them about anything, and was once told at a party by Catherine to go home because it was a school night.
The shooting schedule was Monday to Friday, with weekends off for nine months out of the year. If David had a day off from shooting during the week, he attended school. Otherwise, he had a private tutor on set with him.
Stephen Collins was the cast member whom David spent most of his time with.
Geoff and George Stults, who play Ben and Kevin, called David 'Gary' on set. They nicknamed him this after his wild weekend persona.
According to an online report from the Wall Street Journal, David earned $100,000 per episode during the 10th season of "7th Heaven" - earning him over 2 million for all 22 episodes. |
